The Confraternity of St. Peter (CSP) is an international society that has a special affiliation with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP). Members join to support the charism of the Fraternity through prayers and sacrifice.
The FSSP was founded on October 18, 1988, and this month marks the 36th Anniversary of the Confraternity. In October 2013, in connection with the 25th Anniversary of the FSSP, an annual ceremony was adopted to formalize enrollment in the CSP.
On Sunday, October 20, in apostolates around the world, new members of the CSP who chose to participate will recite the Prayer of the Confraternity at the communion rail. They will receive a solemn blessing and be granted plenary indulgences from the treasury of grace.
Regina Caeli Parish will offer the Confraternity Ceremony for new members after the 11 a.m. High Mass.
Who may participate? Anyone who joined in the last 12 months.
How will the ceremony proceed? At the end of Mass, the priest will invite new members of the CSP to kneel at the communion rail. Members will read aloud the Prayer of the Confraternity. The priest will confer the blessing.
