Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 2, and ends April 16. The Way of the Cross is a popular devotion during Lent and consists of meditating on 14 events that occurred during Christ's Passion, beginning with our Lord being condemned to death and ending with His burial. The parish will recite the Way of the Cross every Friday during Lent at 6:30 p.m., beginning March 4 and ending April 8. It will be prayed again on the morning of Good Friday, April 15.
A plenary indulgence may be gained when the Way of the Cross is prayed privately or publicly. Only one plenary indulgence may be gained a day. A plenary indulgence may also be gained by other pious devotions, such as adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for at least one half-hour, recitation of the Rosary in a family group or church, or reciting the "Prayer Before the Crucifix" on Fridays during Lent.
The KCs will again offer Fish Fry dinners on Fridays during Lent, from 4:30 p.m. until sold out. This gives parishioners a chance to eat before the Stations of Cross begin. The Stations will be held outside, weather permitting.
