Thursday, June 29, is the feast of Ss. Peter and Paul. Members of the Confraternity of St. Peter (CSP) may gain a plenary indulgence on this day, provided the usual conditions are met. The usual conditions are sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father.
The Confraternity was founded Feb. 22, 2007, on the feast of the Chair of St. Peter. WIth the permission of the Holy Father, CSP members may gain a plenary indulgence on the anniversary date of the founding of the Confraternity and on the feast day of Ss. Peter and Paul.
Sodalities have been in existence since medieval times and are an effective way of sanctification for laity and clergy. As a sodality, CSP members and FSSP members pray for and support each other according to their respective vocations.
