Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 23, and ends Holy Thursday, April 6, after which the Triduum begins with Good Friday. The Way of the Cross is a popular devotion during Lent and consists of meditating on the 14 events that occurred during Christ's Passion, from His being condemned to death to His burial.
The parish will recite the Way of the Cross every Friday during Lent at 6:30 p.m., beginning February 24 and ending March 31. It will be prayed again on the morning of Good Friday, April 7.
A plenary indulgence may be gained when the Way of the Cross is prayed privately or publicly. Only one plenary indulgence may be gained a day. A plenary indulgence may also be gained by other pious devotions, such as adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for at least one half-hour, recitation of the Rosary in a family group or church, or reciting the "Prayer Before the Crucifix" on Fridays during Lent.
The KCs will host Fish Fry dinners on Fridays during Lent, from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. or sold out. This gives parishioners a chance to eat before the Stations of the Cross begins.
